American singer, The Weekend threw his fans into a state of confusion when he decided to cut off his dreadlocks ahead of his “Starboy” release.
Explaining why he ditched his signature look, the 26-year-old told The Wall Street Journal that he got rid of his iconic hairstyle because he thought he could live better without it. “I could only sleep on one side of my face,” the 26-year-old star explained.
The Canadian act is now living better after getting rid of the dreads; “Now, the sleep is amazing. The shower is amazing, because I don’t have to spend two hours cleaning it, I didn’t know how much I wanted it until I did it.”
The Weeknd went on revealing that his closest friends actually disapproved of the idea of him chopping off his signature hair. “It was a long time coming,” he added. “It didn’t feel right anymore… I told everybody I was getting rid of it, and everybody – literally, unanimously – they were like, ‘No, don’t do it! That’s your whole thing, that’s you.’ And the way they said that, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m definitely cutting it now.’”
